EMP Attack Could Send America into a Dark Age

(Second of two posts on EMP.)

In a matter of seconds, an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack or a geomagnetic storm could set America back to the 14th century.

The electromagnetic pulse generated by the EMP attack could fry all electronics in line of sight. Unfortunately, our life is controlled by electricity.

What would be affected.

Some cars and trucks made after 1970 would stop running. Most of the cabling is shielded and if the car is metal, you almost have a perfect Faraday Box.
Roads would be blocked by all the late model cars not running and more than likely, accidents blocking the roads.
Some sources say that airplanes would fall out of the sky, but an airplane is made out of mostly metal and has very few non metal areas. Hence, another Faraday Box.
The entire electrical grid would be fried, although some states are taking some precautions. (1)
Even natural gas is delivered by electrical pumps
All communications gone unless the facility is protected.
No Television
No radio, a battery operated radio may work, but will the radio station will be transmitting?
No internet
No Cell phones or land lines
No computers
Any electronic device with at least a 30” cord.
Fuel manufacturing and distribution
Hospitals would be inoperable
911 Call Centers
Police and most emergency vehicles would be operational, but no fuel.
Water treatment facilities
Sewer systems for waste management
Food manufacturing and distribution
Grocery stores would run out of food in 2-3 days
Heating and air conditioning
No banking or ATM’s
It is possible that micro chips would be fried as well.
People would starve to death.
People rioting
Total anarchy is the worst case scenario.
Best case scenario is the federal government gets off their dead butt and moves forward protecting the electrical grid.

What to do

You can do nothing and hope that some group or country won’t decide to paralyze us. But quite frankly, the threat from a superstorm on the sun is real and unavoidable.

So, what to do?

1. Have a lot of battery operated devices on hand and the batteries to use them. These appliances should have cords and antennas 30 inches or less in length. The reason for this is simple; cable acts as an antenna pulling in the EMP.

2. A surge protector Buy quality surge protectors for your key electronics. This is the most affordable first step, costing between $10 - $125. You'll want a surge protector that is UL listed to comply with UL1449 3rd edition, has a clamping voltage of 330 volts or below, and has a very fast response time (< 1ms or instant is best). Also, for computers, buy a device with an Ethernet slot, or buy a dedicated Ethernet surge protector. (Note: I have a 50 foot Ethernet cable hooked to my computer.)

3. To increase protection, add a quality uninterruptible power supply (UPS) behind the surge protector. This level of protection is great, but more expensive. Basic models cost about $120 - $200. Better models can cost between $250 to over $1,000. If you have the money, buy a double-conversion UPS tested to UL standard UL1778. It should also have built in surge protector meeting the standards listed above. Use the shortest power cable possible between the surge protector/UPS and the equipment.

4. Use a Faraday Box to store equipment in. Makeshift Faraday boxes can be made from metal filing cabinets, ammunition containers, microwave ovens and cake boxes. That said, the device you are protecting must not touch the metal container (use insulation: paper, cardboard, whatever). Further, there can be no holes. Last, if the box seems less than adequate, you may wrap it in aluminum foil for more protection. You could take a cardboard box and wrap it with aluminum foil. Tape the ends together and you have a very effective Faraday Box.

5. Some states and individual companies see the seriousness of this subject and are working on solutions. (1) It would help if we wrote our congress people and demanded they take action. The House of Representatives unanimously passed several pieces of legislation to protect the nation's power grid -- the GRID Act, the Shield Act and the Critical Infrastructure Protection Act -- but they died in the Senate. (2)

Note: The internet has a lot of information on this subject, but be discerning with the information. Some sites will tell you that aircraft will fall out of the sky, others say the all metal airplane should survive with few problems. Sometimes lightening strikes an aircraft, but because of the metal shell, no problems occur.

The last confirmed commercial plane crash in the U.S. directly attributed to lightning occurred in 1967, when lightning caused a catastrophic fuel tank explosion. Since then, much has been learned about how lightning can affect airplanes. As a result, protection techniques have improved. Today, airplanes receive a rigorous set of lightning certification tests to verify the safety of their designs. (3)

Some sites will tell you that every car manufactured after 1970 will stop working. Others say that a car is well insulated and is made of metal so it resembles a Faraday box.

Like I said, be careful what you believe.

New concerns are being raised that the nation's electrical grid and critical infrastructure are increasingly vulnerable to a catastrophic foreign attack caused by an electromagnetic pulse (EMP).

An EMP attack could black out the U.S. electric grid for a protracted period of months or years," warned Peter Vincent Pry, executive director of the EMP Task Force, a bipartisan congressional commission. An EMP event could wipe out 90% of America’s population in only ONE YEAR! This is a very real threat, not conspiracy theory or science fiction. Our food and water supplies, communications, banking, hospitals, law enforcement, etc., all depend on the electric grid. Without electricity, people would probably kill each other or they would die from starvation or disease.

Naturally occurring geomagnetic storms like the solar superstorm that narrowly missed the Earth in 2012, or like the 1859 Carrington Event or 1921 Railroad Storm could wreck havoc on our country.

Also, a nuclear EMP attack from terrorists or rogue states, as practiced by North Korea during the nuclear crisis of 2013, are both existential threats.

Yet until recently little attention has been paid to the ease of generating EMPs by detonating a nuclear weapon in orbit above the U.S., and thus bringing our civilization to a cold, dark halt.

Recent declassification of EMP studies by the U.S. government have begun to draw attention to this dire threat. Rogue nations such as North Korea (and possibly Iran) will soon match Russia and China and have the primary ingredients for an EMP attack: simple ballistic missiles such as Scuds that could be launched from a freighter near our shores; space-launch vehicles able to loft low-earth-orbit satellites; and simple low-yield nuclear weapons that can generate gamma rays and fireballs.

In December 2012, the North Koreans successfully orbited a satellite, the KSM-3, compatible with the size and weight of a small nuclear warhead. The trajectory of the KSM-3 has the characteristics for delivery of a surprise nuclear EMP attack against the U.S. For real time tracking of KSM-3

"The grid is utterly unprotected from an EMP attack. Also, it's not adequately protected from cyber or physical sabotage," Pry said in an interview with Fox News. "It's why North Korea and Iran want the bomb, have the bomb. North Korea has actually practiced this against the United States."

Pry, whose congressional EMP commission issued its last unclassified report in 2008, says that the Obama administration has not followed basic recommendations from the bipartisan task force which outlined how the nation's electrical grid could be hardened and protected from this kind of attack -- for $2 billion.

The House of Representatives unanimously passed several pieces of legislation to protect the nation's power grid -- the GRID Act, the Shield Act and the Critical Infrastructure Protection Act (CIPA) -- but they died in the Senate. Congress should pass and the president should sign into law the Shield Act and CIPA as soon as possible. Literally millions of American lives could depend on it.

Did Drugs or Politicians Destroy the Cities?

Liberals share a theory about drug addiction. They say that crime would fall if drugs were de-criminalized and made cheaper. In theory, crime is caused by addicts supporting their high-priced drug habit. A recent experiment shows there is more to the story.

27 pharmacies (1) were looted as the police retreated from the Baltimore riots in April. Thieves stole at least 175 thousand doses of opiates. That is enough to keep Baltimore intoxicated for a year. Stolen drugs are nearly free, yet crime and violence soared after the riots. There is clearly more to the story of inner city violence than addiction.

Our deep blue cities slid down a spiral starting with regulation and taxes. That led to business failure, unemployment, depression, addiction, crime, family breakdown, gangs, and educational failure. Free drugs won’t fix won’t fix these cities because drugs don’t fix despair. More welfare payments won’t fix them because welfare doesn’t repair a broken family. These cities are the end result of a cultural failure.

We could fix these cities. Eliminate high business taxes and regulations and the city would slowly grow again. Provide financial incentives for companies to move there. We would also have to eliminate welfare payments to able bodied men and women. Welfare should be a helping hand, not a standard of living for the healthy. We would have to eliminate the requirements of President Lyndon B. Johnsons “War on Poverty”. Government would not support more than three children. Government would not support any child that didn’t have a father listed on the birth certificate. The War on Poverty destroyed the family unit. It used to be that 89% of black families had a mother and father, now the numbers are reversed. Today, 72% of black children are born to single mothers. (2) (3)

Children in single-parent households are raised not only with economic, but also social and psychological, disadvantages. For instance, they are four times as likely as children from intact families to be abused or neglected; much likelier to have trouble academically; twice as prone to drop out of school; three times more likely to have behavioral problems; much more apt to experience emotional disorders; far likelier to have a weak sense right and wrong; significantly less able to delay gratification and to control their violent or sexual impulses; two-and-a-half times likelier to be sexually active as teens; approximately twice as likely to conceive children out-of-wedlock when they are teens or young adults; and three times likelier to be on welfare when they reach adulthood. (3)

In addition, growing up without a father is a far better forecaster of a boy’s future criminality than either race or poverty. Regardless of race, 70 percent of all young people in state reform institutions were raised in fatherless homes, as were 60 percent of rapists, 72 percent of adolescent murderers, and 70 percent of long-term prison inmates. As Heritage Foundation scholar Robert Rector has noted, “Illegitimacy is a major factor in America's crime problem. Lack of married parents, rather than race or poverty is the principal factor in the crime rate.” (3)

It would take time to recover, but the inner cities would slowly grow again. Investment would slowly lead to more jobs. Employment would lead to lower rates of addiction, lower crime, and more intact families. Private schools would slowly improve the level of education … if politicians would let them. We know how to cure the illnesses in our deeply Democratic cities.

This will probably never happen. Democratic politicians are addicted to welfare voters. Republican politicians are addicted to cheap labor. Both parties are addicted to disposable marriage and political kickbacks. Those are the addictions that cripple our deep blue cities today.

Imports from China surged and the August Trade Deficit was $48.3 Billion, this has been going on for years. Question: How many more months can we continue to have a $50 Billion deficit before we go broke? China has taken a surplus of over $1 Trillion and is using it to expand their military. Why do they need to expand their military? They are a communist country and communist like to expand their territory. Maybe invade Taiwan or the many islands in the South China Sea or the islands in the East China Sea. We of course stand in their way which means we are financing the weapons that they will use to kill some of us. SMART! We do this so a few U.S. companies can make a few extra bucks, meanwhile leaving American citizens out of a job.

As another example, Irene Rosenfeld, the head of Mondolez (the food conglomerate based in Illinois that has Nabisco in its portfolio), a woman touted for breaking the glass ceiling upon becoming the head of Kraft Foods and then its spin off, announced that rather than invest $130 million in modernizing the plant in Chicago, where Oreos have been lovingly produced for the past 100 years, she will instead move the jobs to a new factory in Mexico. The result: a loss of 600 well-paying and community-sustaining jobs on Chicago’s Southwest Side. Can anyone spell BOYCOTT NABISCO?

TAXING PROBLEMS

The 500 largest American companies hold more than $2.1 Trillion in accumulated profits offshore to avoid U.S. taxes and would collectively owe an estimated $620 Billion in taxes if they repatriated the funds. Apple, the leader, is holding $181.1 billion in its three overseas tax havens. WHY do we have overseas tax havens? Could it be that the major companies own our congressional representatives? It’s no longer “We the People”, it’s “we the major corporations”.

Homeless School Children

We can add this to Pretending President BO’s list of accomplishments.

The number of homeless children in public schools has doubled since before the recession, reaching a total of 1.36 million in the 2013-14 school year, according to new federal data.

The latest homeless count, an 8 percent increase over the 2012-13 school year, is a sign that many families continue to struggle financially even as the economy recovers from the housing collapse of 2008. And it offers a glimpse of the growing challenges that public schools face nationwide as they seek to educate an increasing number of low-income children.

The impact is profound on public schools, which struggle to try to address the needs of homeless children. Teachers often find themselves working not only to help children learn, but also to clothes them, keep them clean and counsel them through problems - including stress and trauma - that interfere with classroom progress.

Many schools receive federal funds meant to help connect homeless students with support services. But that federal funding has not kept pace with the increase need.

What is happening to this country?

Fox News reports that “more than 300,000 American military veterans likely died while waiting for health care — and nearly twice as many are still waiting — according to a new Department of Veterans Affairs inspector general report.” Just to put that horrific figure in perspective, 407,300 American troops died in all of World War II. In Vietnam, 58,220 died. How can it possibly be that our own Veterans Administration is becoming a virtual killing field for our veterans?

1. The Seattle mayor wants to change laws to benefit Muslims and Shariah Law.

“We will work to develop new tools for Muslims who are prevented from using conventional mortgage products due to their religious beliefs,” Mayor Murray said during a press conference.

It’s amazing how liberals like Murray can argue for the separation of church and state and Christian values from society in one breath while arguing that American businesses be forced to comply with Shariah Law in the next.

2. In California: In K -12 schools plus college, if your physical being is one gender, but mentally you feel like the opposite gender, you can try out for sports and shower with your mental gender.

3. In Oregon, children as young as 15 can receive cross-sex hormone therapy, puberty-suppressing drugs, and gender-reassignment surgery. Yes, that’s surgery to have their sex organs removed or rearranged without the consent of a parent. This surgery is paid for by the Oregon health Plan. Can you imagine one day your son comes home and says, Hi Mom and Dad, I’m now a girl named Caitlin?

4. Our military can’t carry weapons because of one Muslim lunatic. Let’s see, we trust them to have guns in other countries, but not in our own. Liberal logic? How about just keeping guns away from Muslims. Woops, that would be profiling. No No!

5. Bruce Jenner has a mental illness and society let him down by using his condition to further their liberal agenda. Then the liberals gave him a metal for courage. Where is the metal for insanity or stupidity?

6. We have a liar and a fraud for a president who is guilty of treason and a Supreme Court that writes laws.

7. The leading democratic candidate is a vile person, with no credibility. She is guilty of lying, fraud, and treason, but the liberals love her.

8. Planned Parenthood is selling aborted baby parts. There is nothing planned about Planned Parenthood, it is simply an abortion clinic and that is how they make their money.

9. The Supreme Court has decided to ignore the constitution and legislate law. The recent decision on marriage was based on treating everybody equally. Quite frankly, we don’t do that and you can’t satisfy everybody in a large society. Can a mother and a daughter, father and a son now get married? Are there any limits to who can marry who? The Court is now making laws dependent on their social belief system, not the constitution. As an example, have you heard of “Hate Crimes”? If a minority is assaulted and a white person is assaulted, and the perpetrators are both caught, the person that assaulted the minority gets a more severe sentence than the person that assaulted the white person. How is that equal protection? That by the way is another Supreme Court decision.

I truly believe the inmates are running the asylum.

In his recent State of the Union address, BO once again proved he was the best liar we’ve ever had acting as a president.

He stated that the economy was doing well and that unemployment had been cut in half during his time in the White House. REALITY The civilian unemployment rate when he took office was about 4.5%. It is now about 9.6%. Historical Long term Unemployment was 10% and it is now 31.2% (a/o September 2014).(1) See, he is still smoking pot and he is living in a fantasy world.

When BO was running for President, he stated he would cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. The deficit was $458 billion in 2008 and he has since added $6.257 trillion to it. His budget for 2012 showed a deficit of $1.1 Trillion. Instead of cutting it in half, he increased it 240%. His budget for 2015 shows a deficit $583 billion. Liar Liar

He talked about the need to further tax the rich because they are not paying their fair share. Yet, he failed to mention that the top 1 percent pays 37 percent of the federal income taxes, while earning 19 percent of the income. What gives him the right to determine somebody’s FAIR share?

His claim that we are winning the war against terrorism is another example of him living in a fantasy world in light of its rapid growth and spread throughout the world. He appeared not to recognize that our premature withdrawal of troops from Iraq was a mistake, facilitating the development of the Islamic State. He never calls Hamas, Hezbollah or the Taliban a terrorist organization. Maybe he doesn’t even know the definition of terrorism. His bravado about chasing terrorists and eliminating them bears no resemblance to his actual policies, demonstrating his contempt for the intelligence of his audience.

He showed great courage in talking about how the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is actually resulting in a reduction in health care spending. This may be true on some levels, but the reason for that decreased spending is secondary to the reluctance of people to seek medical care when they have deductibles of thousands of dollars. He said, “Let me be exactly clear about what health care reform means to you,” Obama said at one rally in July 2009. “First of all, if you’ve got health insurance, you like your doctors, you like your plan, you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan. Nobody is talking about taking that away from you.” It is estimated that 16 million people will lose their coverage. (3) Personally, my doctor sent me a letter stating that he wasn't going to accept Medicare or my secondary insurance company any longer. My insurance company also told me I had to change plans and then dropped me. My heart medication went from $500 for six months to $1000 for six months.

He keeps dipping into Medicare to fiancé his pipe dreams. In his latest budget for 2015, he is again lowering the amount of money being paid by Medicare for prescriptions. I guess he thinks that the people on Medicare are the very rich.

• Based on a Manhattan Institute analysis of data released by the Department of Health and Human Services, insurance rates for younger men will increase by an average of 97 to 99 percent, while they will increase by an average of 55 to 62 percent for younger women. (2)

• Worst of all states, North Carolina will see individual market rates triple for women and quadruple for men.(2)

BO also made some fantastic comments which served as applause lines regarding energy, education, and a few other subjects. The real state of the union is characterized by dishonesty and deception. You will notice that he just talks about more spending, not cutting the budget on balancing the budget or being a responsible administrator.

Instead of pretending that everything is rosy, perhaps it would be wise for the acting president to replay the part of the speech about bipartisan cooperation and then figure out how his multiple veto threats, failure to communicate, and reluctance to seek bipartisan solutions fit the theme of his address.

I truly believe BO is a liar on many levels and he is guilty of fraud and treason. Much to my disappointment, he never mentioned his illegal and discriminatory Choke Point Plan.

Of course, most people that support BO have no idea what is really going on so they think he is doing a great job. Ignorance is bliss.

Liability Concerns Limit Sledding

When I was a child, we used to go sledding in the winter from high hills. If someone got hurt, we accepted responsibility for our actions and our parents didn’t sue anyone.

Not so today. People don’t like to take responsibility for their actions anymore. It’s always somebody else’s fault and the liberal courts and juries seem too agree.

Cities are banning or limiting sledding in city parks.(1) Why you ask. Because people are getting hurt, running into trees or other obstacles and it is always the cities fault, never the individual or the parent.

A study by the Columbus Ohio based Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital found that between 1997 and 2007, more than 20,000 children each year were treated at emergency rooms for sledding related injuries. (1) (Although the article doesn’t make it clear, I assume this is across the entire US.)

It is very unfortunate when someone is paralyzed from any type of accident. If you look at all the children hurt from motorcycle racing, snow skiing, skateboarding, football, etc., I hardly think sledding is a bigger risk. Parents should be monitoring the activities of their children and assuming responsibility for their safety. It’s NOT always somebody else’s fault.

April 15, 2014 Washington – As hardworking Americans file their taxes today, it’s a good time to be reminded that ordinary taxpayers pick up the tab for special interest loopholes in our tax laws. A new U.S. PIRG report released today revealed that the average American taxpayer in 2013 would have to shoulder an extra $1,259 in state and federal taxes to make up for the revenue lost due to the use of offshore tax havens by corporations and wealthy individuals.

“Average taxpayers and small business owners foot the bill for offshore tax dodging. Every dollar in taxes companies avoid by booking profits to shell companies in tax havens must be balanced by cuts to public programs, higher taxes for the rest of us, or more debt,” said Dan Smith, Tax and Budget Advocate for U.S. PIRG and report co-author.

Every year, corporations and wealthy individuals avoid paying an estimated $184 billion in state and federal income taxes by using complicated accounting tricks to shift their profits to offshore tax havens. Of that $184 billion, $110 billion is avoided specifically by corporations.

In early April, the Senate Finance Committee voted to renew two especially egregious offshore loopholes which will cost $8 billion in lost revenue over the next two years.

“The Senate Finance Committee squandered an opportunity to stand with regular taxpayers who can’t marshal armies of lawyers and lobbyists to bend the tax code to their whim. Unfortunately, they caved to special interest pressure,” said Smith.

The report additionally found that the average American small business would have to pay $3,923 to cover the cost of offshore tax dodging by large corporations. Offshore tax havens give large multinationals a competitive advantage over responsible small businesses which don’t have subsidiaries in tax havens to reduce their tax bills. Small businesses get stuck footing the bill for corporate tax dodging.

Many of America’s largest and best-known corporations use these complex tax avoidance schemes to shift their profits offshore and drastically shrink their tax bill. GE, Microsoft, and Pfizer boast the largest offshore cash hoards:

General Electric paid a federal effective tax rate of negative 11.1 percent between 2008 and 2012 despite being profitable all of those years. The company received net tax payments from the government. GE maintains18 subsidiaries in tax haven in 2013 and parked $110 billion offshore. One of the company’s most lucrative loopholes just got renewed by the Senate Finance Committee. GE alone hired 48 lobbyists to push to renew the “active financing exception.”

Microsoft avoided $4.5 billion in federal income taxes over a three year period by using sophisticated accounting tricks to artificially shift its income to tax-friendly Puerto Rico. Microsoft maintains five tax haven subsidiaries and keeps $76.4 billion, on which it would otherwise owe $24.4 billion in additional U.S. taxes.

Pfizer paid no U.S. income taxes between 2010 and 2012 because the company reported losses in the U.S. during those years, despite making 40 percent of its sales in the U.S. and earning $43 billion worldwide. The company operates 128 subsidiaries in tax havens and has $69 billion parked offshore which remains untaxed by the U.S., according to its own SEC filing.

The report recommends closing a number of offshore tax loopholes. Many of these reforms are included in the Stop Tax Haven Abuse Act, introduced by Sen. Levin in the Senate (S.1533) and Rep. Doggett in the House (H.R. 1554).

State governments can also take measures to reclaim some of the revenue lost to tax havens. U.S. PIRG found that by passing a simple, proven reform already on the books in Montana and Oregon, states could collectively save $1 billion annually. Maine was the latest state to consider this reform, which sailed through the legislature in early April.

STUPIDITY OF GOVERNMENT

It has been awhile since I have been incensed by the stupidity of our government. I guess I’m getting used to it.

Obama has just appointed a trusted political advisor to take control of America’s response to the Ebola epidemic. What does a political advisor know about epidemics? Go BO!

A big article on the jobless rate in San Diego county dropping to 5.9%. But wait, 11,100 people left the workforce and we lost 2,800 payroll jobs. I can see this is just another big win for BO.

Immigration officials say that 3000 illegal’s have been release from jails across the US, many having previous felony charges or convictions. Well, we just have more undocumented democrats.

The Supreme Court (It sure as hell is not supreme. The definition of supreme is “the highest quality”) just allowed two more states to have same-sex marriages. I can’t figure out what part of the constitution deals with marriage. Also, why do we have other restrictions on marriage? It can’t be equal protection under the law because we have hate crimes which give certain groups more protection than other groups.

Oh well, its’ probably Bush’s fault.

What a crock of manure.

Declaring that the Great Recession is only partly to blame, White House economists (no name here means BO) say the increasing number of Americans dropping out of the labor force dampens economic growth and demands policy changes that create more job opportunities and add workers (1).

Well, yea! The workforce is declining because people can’t find a job. This is a prime example that the current administration has totally failed during the last 6 years.

We need a President, not just someone pretending to be President between golf games.

For those of you that may not know, once an unemployed person has expended their unemployment benefits, they are dropped from the unemployment numbers. They still don’t have a job, but they are not counted any longer.

In June 2014, the real unemployment rate was 12.1%. This includes discouraged workers and part-timers who'd rather have a full-time jobs.(2)

This administration is the dumbest and the most corrupt administrating in the history of the United States of America.

BO is a MORON, he should be arrested for fraud and treason.

Football

The truth is sometimes I’m just PO’d about something in general. Take football for instance. I have been an avid football fan for many decades. In the old days, (yes, I just said that), football games used to last 2 hours and 20 minutes to 2 hours and 30 minutes. Then they would have player interviews, game statistics and analysis to round out 3 hours. Today, a game lasts over 3 hours. This year, the networks are scheduling the second games of back to back games 3 hours and 15 minutes after the first one starts.

I remember probably about 30 years ago, an owner just signed a marquee running back and he called a press conference to announce the signing. He stated, “I have just signed the most expensive running back in the league.” Notice, he didn’t mention, “the best running back”.

Today players are signing multi-million dollar contracts with the marquee players getting 15 to 20 million per year. That is ridiculous! The President of the US only makes $400 thousand per year. Mind you, he has a lot of perks, free rent, medical, travel first class at no cost, etc.

Stadium seats go from $80 to $324. Hotdog for $4 - 5, soda for $4 - 5 and parking for $25.00 minimum. Parking could cost $75 to $100. So figure a family of 4 costing an easy $500 for the cheap seats. (costs are approximate)

What does all of these high costs mean? Probably an extra 30 to 45 minutes of commercials and stadium prices in the hundreds of dollars just to watch one game. Is it any wonder that the San Diego Chargers rarely sell out home games so the game is not televised? If you are a charger fan, expect to only watch away games.

I would really like to see fans unionize and say “enough”. If 50% of the fans just didn’t attend or watch one game, I believe it would really shake up the NFL and the NFL Players Association. Is this going to happen? Probably right after $1.00 gasoline and Obama resigns.

America Destroyed

America has become a country being destroyed by liberals and political correctness.

If we lie to the government, it’s a felony; if they lie to us, its politics. Presidential lies are just campaign promises. Liberals actually expect their candidates to lie to them.

If we dislike a black person, we are racist and guilty of a hate crime. If a black person dislikes a white person, it is their constitutional right.

The schools are required to teach that homosexuality is good, but can’t mention God. Many schools no longer have a Christmas break, it’s a holiday break. (A rose by any other name is still a rose.)

You can kill an unborn child, and sometime a child that has been born (1), but capital punishment is wrong.

It’s okay to use a human fetus for research, but just don’t use another type of animal.

We are unable to close our border with Mexico, but don’t have any problem with the border between North and South Korea.

If you don’t like Obama’s policies, you are a racist, un-American and/or a terrorist. Disliking a past president’s policies used to be a first amendment right.

Having and or distributing pornography is protected by the first amendment, but if I speak up against ObamaCare, I’m a terrorist. If I mention God, I’m guilty of a hate crime.

We take money from those that work hard for it and give it to the people that don’t want to work. This is called the redistribution of wealth and it is considered a good thing.

All of our children are being diagnosed as having ADHD, when in fact proper parenting and fewer video games would solve most problems.

In California schools, a person in a boy’s body, but believes he is a girl has access to the girls bathrooms, locker room and shower. Also, he can play on girls athletic teams.

The mark of true liberal is: I don’t care what my forefathers, grandparents or even my father believes in – I am here now and I will decide what is right and wrong.

Deep Water Ports

LENO: You mentioned infrastructure. Why is that a partisan issue? I live in a town, the bridge is falling apart, and it’s not safe. How does that become Republican or Democrat? How do you not just fix the bridge? (Laughter and applause.)

THE PRESIDENT: I don’t know. As you know, for the last three years, I’ve said, let’s work together. Let’s find a financing mechanism and let’s go ahead and fix our bridges, fix our roads, sewer systems, our ports. [You know], the Panama [Canal] is being widened so that these big supertankers can come in. Now, that will be finished in 2015. If we don’t deepen our ports all along the Gulf — places like Charleston, South Carolina, or Savannah, Georgia, or Jacksonville, Florida — if we don’t do that, those ships are going to go someplace else. And we’ll lose jobs. Businesses won’t locate here.

Note: The president was talking about deepening our ports along the Gulf, and yet he only referenced cities along the Atlantic Ocean coastline. He might be talking about states numbers 58 and 59. He has visited 57 states, but last I knew he hadn’t visited 58 and 59.

Okay, here is another problem.

Punta Colonet is a small Mexican Pacific coastal village located approximately 150 miles south of Tijuana in Baja California. The Mexican government has announced that it will build a new Pacific seaport at this site. According to Mexican government reports, the port will be designed to handle six million containers annually at final build-out. In terms of processing volume, it will be larger than the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach combined. When completed, the site is projected to encompass an area of more than 27,000 acres, or slightly more than 42 square miles. It will be the third largest seaport in the world, behind only Singapore and Hong Kong. It is estimated that between 90,000 and 200,000 people, a small city, will be needed to operate the port facilities. (1)

President Obama has been pushing to complete the NAFTA agreement which lets all North American trucks travel throughout all of North America. This means that ships from Asia will off load their containers in Mexico and have Mexican truckers deliver their products all over the United States. You may ask why, well there are several reasons.

1. Mexican dockworkers and truckers will be paid a lot less than US workers.
2. It probably takes an extra 8 to 10 days round trip to reach a port in the Gulf of Mexico or on the Eastern Seaboard.
3. You could have an additional 7 day delay going through the Panama Canal.
4. It costs anywhere from $50,000 to $250,000 for container ships to go through the Panama Canal times two for a round trip.

It is just a lot more economical for ships to off load on the West coast of Mexico, then in the Gulf of Mexico or the Eastern seaboard. They could just as easily off load in Los Angles, but then you have the high cost of American wages compared with Mexico.

One thing that has always amazed me is the political position of unions. I don’t know about the Longshoremen, but the Teamsters supported Obama for president (2), the person trying to put most of them out of a job. Go figure.

New Document 5 children die each day in America (1) as a result of abuse or neglect, a report of child abuse is made every 10 seconds and over 3 million reports of child abuse are made annually. (2)

Transgenders

It is beyond me to understand how our leaders in California could be so uncaring and illogical for the sake of political correctness.

Thanks to AB 1266, school districts must adopt policies allowing transgender students to use the restrooms and locker facilities of their choosing, as well as play on the sports team that matches their gender identity.

Wow …….. I know you are reading that twice. My children are in their 40’s, so this lack of social intelligence will have minimal affect on me. However, can you imagine a bunch of 12 year old girls in the locker room with another 12 year old with a boys’ body. And vice versa.

Really, how dumb can you get? What happened to common sense? What possessed these idiots in our government?

How fair will it be when you have a male body on a girl’s volleyball or basketball team?

This is complete insanity.

I ask you - who in running this asylum?

The good news is that we are trying to get this subject on the November 2014 ballot. We need to make a list of all the people that voted for AB 1266 and remove them from office.

How Do You Spell Illegal?

Sometimes I just can’t help myself. California is filled with the dumbest people God has put on this earth. We now have laws that allow illegal immigrants (now called unauthorized immigrants) to obtain a drivers license, practice law (like we don’t have enough attorneys) and limits why police can turn over illegals to the feds.

We have high unemployment.
We have over 232,000 lawyers in California
(Note: France has twice the population and 19% of the lawyers)
We can’t turn over illegal’s for minor offense.
These morons don't have the slightest idea what the word ILLEGAL means

California is a great state with exceptional weather. Why did we have to populate it with so many IDIOTS?

Knockout Game

New York City police are investigating a series of unprovoked physical attacks in public places on people who are Jewish, in the form of what is called “the knockout game”.

The way the game is played; one of a number of young blacks decides to show he can knock down some stranger on the streets, preferably with one punch as they pass by.

Often some other member of the group records the event, so that a video of that "achievement" is put on the Internet, to be celebrated. The New York authorities describe a recent series of such attacks and, because Jews have been singled out in these attacks, are considering prosecuting these assaults as "hate crimes."

Many aspects of these crimes are extremely painful to think about, including the fact that responsible authorities in New York seem to have been caught by surprise, even though this "knockout game" has been played for years by young black gangs in other cities, against people besides Jews — the victims being either whites in general or people of Asian ancestry.

Attacks of this sort have been rampant in St. Louis. But they have also occurred in Massachusetts, Wisconsin and elsewhere. In Illinois the game has often been called "Polar Bear Hunting" by the young thugs, presumably because the targets are white.

The main reason for many people's surprise is that the mainstream media have usually suppressed news about the "knockout game" or about other and larger forms of similar orchestrated racial violence in dozens of cities in every region of the country. Sometimes the attacks are reported, but only as isolated attacks by unspecified "teens" or "young people" against unspecified victims, without any reference to the racial makeup of the attackers or the victims — and with no mention of racial epithets by the young hoodlums exulting in their own "achievement."

Despite such pious phrases as "troubled youths," the attackers are often in a merry, festive mood. In a sustained mass attack in Milwaukee, going far beyond the dimensions of a passing "knockout game," the attackers were laughing and. eating chips, as if it were a picnic. One of them observed casually, "white girl bleed a lot."

That phrase — "White Girl Bleed A Lot" — is also the title of a book by Colin Flaherty, which documents both the racial attacks across the nation and the media attempts to cover them up, as well as the local political and police officials who try to say that race had nothing to do with these attacks.

Chapter 2 of the 2013 edition is titled, "The Knockout Game, St. Louis Style." So this is nothing new, however new it may be to some in New York, thanks to the media's political correctness.

Nor is this game just a passing prank. People have been beaten unconscious, both in this game and in the wider orchestrated racial attacks. Some of these victims have been permanently disabled and some have died from their injuries.

But most of the media see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil. In such an atmosphere, the evil not only persists but grows.

Some in the media, as well as in politics, may think that they are trying to avoid provoking a race war by ignoring or playing down these attacks. But the way to prevent a race war is by stopping these attacks, not trying to sanitize them.

If these attacks continue, and continue to grow, more and more people are going to know about them, regardless of the media or the politicians.

Responsible people of all races need to support a crackdown on these attacks, which can provoke a white backlash that can escalate into a race war. But political expediency leads in the opposite direction.

What is politically expedient is to do what Attorney General Eric Holder is doing — launch campaigns against schools that discipline a "disproportionate" number of black male students. New York City's newly elected liberal mayor is expected to put a stop to police "stop and frisk" policies that have reduced the murder rate to one-fourth of what it was under liberal mayors of the past.

Apparently political correctness trumps human lives.

Providing cover for hoodlums is a disservice to everybody, including members of every race, and even the hoodlums themselves. Better that they should be suppressed and punished now, rather than continue on a path that is likely to lead to prison, or even to the execution chamber.
